8:47 pm, Irish 66-47, Final: Whitney Holloway hits her first of two free throws in the closing minutes, Providence gets a couple of late baskets and the Irish walk away with a 19-point victory. Stay tuned to UND.com and Irish UNDerground for post-game coverage.

8:41 pm, Irish 65-43, 2:41 2nd half: Mallory finds a cutting Diggins...She's fouled and makes the first of two shots. Providence responds with a layup from Teya Wright, before Diggins makes an excellent pass to Miller for a layup as the shot clock winds down.

Miller makes one of two free throws to give the Irish a 20-point lead...McBride scores a layup and the Irish call a 30-second timeout. This one is all but over.

8:32 pm, Irish 59-41, 7:13 2nd half: After the under-8 media timeout, Peters hits one of two free throws. Providence gets called for a shot clock violation on the following possession. Fraderica Miller goes down hard for the Irish. She got blindsided and might've been poked in the eye. Slow to get up, but she walks off on her own. A flagrant gets called on Providence, and Novosel goes to shoot the free throws, where she hits the second of two shots.

8:21 pm, Irish 55-38, 10:53 2nd half: Diggins hits Notre Dame's first three-pointer of the game and it's a 17-point Irish lead. Sky and Dev lead the team with 18 points each.

8:17 pm, Irish 52-38, 12:04 2nd half: Mallory makes a great pass to a cutting McBride... The sophomore guard makes the layup and gets fouled. She completes the three-point play and the lead jumps back to 11, but Barnes responds with another three from the corner.

Peters goes to the line for Notre Dame and converts both free throws, before Novosel hits a mid-range jumper. Peters also scores a short jumper inside the paint, and at 14 points, the Irish have their largest lead of the game.

8:09 pm, Irish 43-35, 15:47 2nd half: Devereaux Peters gets a layup, but Lola Wells responds with one of her own. She's fouled by Novosel and makes the free throw to complete the three-point play. After Diggins drops a pass from Mallory, we go to the media timeout.

8:04 pm, Irish 41-32, 17:34 2nd half: The Friars hit a three from the corner, and it's just a five-point lead for Notre Dame. After Providence is called for a travel on its next possession, Kayla McBride makes a nice move to the hoop for a reverse layup. She gets a defensive rebound, before finding Natalie Novosel who takes it to the basket and makes an easy layup to push the lead back to nine.

8:01 pm, Irish 37-29, 19:50 2nd half: Providence scores on the first possession of the second half, and the Irish lead is back down to eight.

7:48 pm: New women's lacrosse coach Christine Halfpenny says a few words at halftime. Her team takes on Stanford this Sunday at noon ET. I'm not sure if that game will be at Arlotta Stadium or in Loftus Center, but either way, UND.com will have you covered. Tune in to see the Irish laxers in action against the Cardinal.

7:44 pm, Irish 37-27, Half: Diggins misses two free throws, but the Irish tie up the Friars for a jump ball. After a steal by Alexis Harris, Providence throws it away. Notre Dame heads to the locker room with a 10-point lead.

Skylar Diggins leads the Irish with 15 points on 6-for-7 from the field and 3-for-5 from the line. Devereaux Peters has chipped in 12 points.

Notre Dame is shooting 55.6% (15-for-27) from the field, compared with Providence's 43.3% (13-for-30) first half performance. Ten first half turnovers have prevented the Irish from breaking this one open.

7:39 pm, Irish 37-27, 1:44 1st half: The Friars' Rachel Barnes hits a three and then makes a short jumper from the paint. Notre Dame calls a quick timeout and Peters responds with a foul line jumper.

7:34 pm, Irish 35-22, 3:42 1st half: Peters lobs it over the top to Achonwa who makes a nice, nice move down low to hit a difficult layup. The Friars miss a layup, before Peters hits a layup on the next Irish possession. Just like that we've got the double-digit lead that Notre Dame fans have grown accustomed to seeing at the Purcell Pavilion.

Diggins gets a steal and takes it in for an easy fast break layup. Roberts hits a short jumper for Providence, but Notre Dame responds with another jumper from Diggins. A Providence injury takes us to the media timeout.

7:25 pm, Irish 27-20, 7:31 1st half: Diggins makes it 4-for-4 early, hitting a jumper from the inside the arc as the shot clock winds down. Two possessions later, Peters follows a Novosel miss with an easy layup. After a Providence miss, Achonwa hits two free throws and the Irish grab a five-point lead, their largest of the game.

Mallory gets a block from behind, Diggins takes it to the hoop and makes a nice pass to Peters for another layup. After a jump ball, we'll go to the under-8 media timeout.

7:19 pm, Irish 19-18, 11:29 1st half: Nearly midway through the first half, Skylar Diggins is having another strong game offensively (3-for-3 FG, 3-for-3 FT, 9 points), but the Irish are still locked in a close battle with the Friars.

7:13 pm, Irish 17-14, 13:37 1st half: Coming out of the timeout, Fraderica Miller gets a steal for the Irish and takes it the other way for a fast break layup. After a layup from Okafor, Natalie Achonwa responds with a short jumper from the paint.

The scoring has been back and forth so far. Not a whole lot of defense being played, resulting in a couple of easy baskets for both teams.

Diggins hits a pair of free throws after being fouled by Roberts, and the Friars call a quick timeout after struggling to inbound the ball.

7:08 pm, Irish 9-8, 15:47 1st half: Diggins takes it coast-to-coast and completes a three-point play after getting fouled by Okafor. After a steal by Peters, Mallory finds McBride underneath for a nice reverse layup. "Sky" gets another layup, and it looks like the junior point guard has picked up where she left off on Sunday in the scoring column.

Symone Roberts leads the Friars with four points at the first media timeout.

7:02 pm, Irish 2-0, 19:14 1st half: Great ball movement to get on the board first - Mallory to Diggins to Peters for an easy layup.

6:55 pm: The Band of the Fighting Irish performs the Star Spangled Banner and it's almost game time. Now up on the video board: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hk6fZm5rdvM

    Here are tonight's starting line-ups:
Providence - Teya Wright, Alicia Cropper, Lola Wells, Rachel Barnes, Lauren Okafor.

Notre Dame - Natalie Novosel, Kayla McBride, Devereaux Peters, Brittany Mallory, Skylar Diggins.

6:46 pm: The Band of the Fighting Irish busts out Michael Buble's "I Just Haven't Met You Yet." I've got to believe this is no coincidence on Valentine's Day.

6:30 pm: Whoever put together tonight's pre-game playlist had Valentine's Day in mind. The last two songs: Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called to Say I Love You" and Justin Bieber's "Somebody to Love."

6:10 pm: After a stunning home loss against unranked West Virginia on Sunday, the #4 Notre Dame women's basketball team will look to rebound tonight against Providence. The Friars arrive in South Bend with a 13-12 overall record, and 5-7 mark in BIG EAST Conference play.

With just four games remaining, every night counts for Coach Muffet McGraw's squad. The Irish remain tied with Connecticut for first place in the BIG EAST, a team they will meet on Feb. 27 in Hartford.

UND.com will be streaming the game live from the Purcell Pavilion beginning at 7 pm ET and you can catch the radio broadcast on Pulse FM (96.9/92.1) in the South Bend area. Stay tuned right here to Irish UNDerground for action throughout the evening.
