Freshman, Brandon Hoyte reads a personal favorite, The Gingerbread Man, to a group of Marquette Elementary fourth grade students on Saturday morning, February 23. Marquette Elementary was celebrating its Reading Marathon program.
Even as a freshman, Brandon has already made a significant impact in the community by making regular weekly visits to a James Madison Elementary kindergarten classroom, assisting with reading and writing, during the fall semester; he is continuing this service trend this spring through his involvement with a reading initiative.
Sophomore, Preston Jackson has recently made celebrity reading visits to Mary Frank (February 21) and Marquette (February 23) Elementary Schools to read with and visit with first and second grade students.
Preston Jackson reads for another attentive audience of children this spring.
Cedric signs autographs and visited with the students prior to his addressing an audience of students, parents, teachers, and administrators from Jackson Middle School
Junior, Cedric Hilliard was the guest speaker at the Jackson Middle School seventh grade Honor Roll Breakfast on February 7, 2002.
