Athletics News

Welcome to "Ask the Irish," your direct link to Notre Dame basketball.

Each week, UND.com will offer fans a chance to submit questions to a featured member of the Notre Dame basketball teams. The selected person will answer the submitted questions in a video interview.

Ryan Humphrey is this week's featured player. Ryan is in his first season of play for the Irish after sitting out the entire 1999-2000 campaign. Many basketball publications named him to the preseason all-Big East team.

Ryan is a Tulsa, Oklahoma native who attended Booker T. Washington High School. Upon the completion of his senior season, Gatorade named him Oklahoma's player of the year. He was also a finalist for USA Gatorade's Player of the Year.

He sat out his the 1999-2000 campaign after transferring from Oklahoma. After his sophomore season, he was named third-team all-Big 12. The Big 12 named him to its all-freshman team. This season, Ryan is averaging around 15 points per game as well as nine rebounds.

Submit your questions to Ryan concerning the 2000 season, what is like to finally play for the Irish or anything else on your mind. Then check back next week to find out if he responds to YOUR question.

Ryan Humphrey's responses are in for last week's questions! Check out the link below for her video clip.
