Rita Baxter joined the Notre Dame Ticket and Event Marketing Department, after working for several years in the professional sports industry. In her role as Group Sales Representative at the University, Baxter coordinates and consolidates group sales for all Notre Dame-ticketed athletic events.
Prior to joining the Notre Dame family, Baxter worked alongside her husband John for the South Bend Silver Hawks, a Class A minor league baseball team. In 1988 she worked as a sales representative and quickly rose through the ranks to become the Vice President of Sales & Promotions. In 1996 Baxter briefly left the Silver Hawks for a few years to raise her small children, returning in 2006 as the Corporate Sales Manager.
Baxter graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, with a Bachelor's degree of Arts in Social Welfare. She minored in music.
Hailing originally from Oak Creek, Wis., Baxter and her family reside in Granger. Baxter is heavily involved in the worship ministry at River Valley Church. She enjoys hanging out with her children, son Sam and daughter Sara, and supporting them in various extra-curricular activities.
