Leigh Bogensperger is in her first year at the University of Notre Dame as an intern in the event marketing department.
Bogensperger arrived at Notre Dame after one year as a graduate assistant at the University of New Haven (Conn.) where she worked in the sports information department. Bogensperger worked directly with the softball and soccer programs while assisting with football. She also helped create, design and implement New Haven's athletic website.
Prior to her stint at New Haven, Bogensperger worked at the University of Pennsylvania as an athletic communications assistant. In that role, Bogensperger served as the primary contact for softball, field hockey, squash, swimming and sprint football. She also was the media coordinator for the men's 2008 Philly Hoop Group Classic.
Bogensperger graduated in 2008 from Hobart and William Smith Colleges (N.Y.) with a degree in public policy. She earned her master's degree in sports administration from New Haven in 2010.
A native of Essex, Conn., Bogensperger currently resides in South Bend.
