    A Carey, Ohio native, Dave Brown is entering his 15th year as the assistant director of club sports with the RecSports Department at Notre Dame. Under his current position, Brown oversees the schedules, budgets, travel, and compliance with club leagues or associations. He also attends home competitions, and oversees other facets of club sports including scheduling of outdoor fields and maintaining the St. Joe Beach and Boathouse in addition to his other RecSports duties.

    Prior to joining the Notre Dame staff, Brown spent 20 years at the United States Naval Academy, serving as an Associate Professor of Physical Education. Along with teaching, Brown also worked with the tennis team as an assistant coach and served as the head coach for the squash team. Brown was inducted into the Collegiate Squash Hall of Fame in 1999. In 2010, the US Naval Academy named a squash court in Brown's honor at a Homecoming Week ceremony.

    Brown graduated from Slippery Rock University with a bachelor's degree in English. He later went on to receive his masters degree in education; English, from Bowie University.

    Brown and his wife Gerry currently reside in Granger, Ind. The couple has two children, a son, Jeremy, and a daughter, Sarah. Brown's wife, Gerry works in the Notre Dame Development Office; their son, Jeremy, works in the Notre Dame IT Office; their daughter, Sarah, is a Saint Mary's graduate and teaches kindergarten at North Point Elementary School in the Penn Harris School District.
