Sean Carroll is in his sixth year in the Notre Dame sports information office, and his fourth as assistant sports information director. In that position, he serves as the primary contact for the Fighting Irish men's soccer and men's lacrosse teams, and also is the secondary contact for the Notre Dame men's basketball program in addition to helping with the day-to-day operations of the office. In addition, he was the tournament media coordinator for the 2009 NCAA women's basketball tournament first- and second-round games hosted at Notre Dame's Joyce Center, and he will reprise that role again in 2010. Carroll entered the sports information field as a volunteer in the Bethel College (Mishawaka, Ind.) athletic department during the 2002-03 academic year. Prior to his arrival at Notre Dame, Carroll spent one year as a media relations staff assistant at the University of Albany (N.Y.). There, Carroll was the primary contact for the Great Danes' men's and women's soccer, men's and women's track & field, and baseball programs. A native of Lakeville, Ind., Carroll graduated from Indiana University in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and a second concentration in political science. At IU, he worked as a sports anchor for the student-produced news program on WTIU-TV in Bloomington. He was born August 13, 1979, in Mishawaka, Ind. |
