Alan George Position: Assistant Sports Information Director First Year at ND: 2007

Alan George joined the Notre Dame sports information staff in 2007 after a two-year stint as an athletic media relations graduate assistant at Western Kentucky University. In addition to serving as Notre Dame's primary volleyball contact, he also handles media responsibilities for the men's and women's swimming & diving and softball teams.

While at WKU, George worked closely with the Hilltoppers' swimming and softball programs and coordinated the media efforts for the 2007 Sun Belt Conference swimming & diving championships.

George played football at Centre College before graduating in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in economics. He went on to work as an operations intern for the Class-A South Atlantic League's Lexington Legends (affiliate of Major League Baseball's Houston Astros) prior to earning his master's degree in sport administration from WKU in 2006.

George is an active basketball referee and baseball umpire, officiating both sports at the youth, prep and collegiate levels.
