Ryan Grooms, who is in his third year working at the University of Notre Dame, is the head equipment manager for Notre Dame Football.
A native of Frankfort, Ohio, Grooms was previously at the University of Minnesota for two years as the director of football equipment. Other previous stops included the United States Air Force Academy, where Grooms was the assistant equipment manager; Marshall University, where he was a graduate assistant; and Ohio University, where he was a student manger.
In 2002, Grooms received a bachelor of science degree in communication from Ohio University. Grooms also completed an internship with the New Orleans Saints in 2003. In 2007, Grooms served on the East West Shrine Game and in 2008 he served on the McDavid Advisory Board. Grooms has been a certified member of the AEMA (Athletic Equipment Manger's Association) since 2003.
Grooms, who currently resides in Granger, Ind., is married to Lynzee Grooms and has one son, Easton.
