Matthew Howley is in his first year at Notre Dame as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach. He works with the Men's Soccer, Women's Rowing, and both Men's and Women's Golf teams.
Howley has received a Bachelor's of Exercise and Sports Science from Deakin University in 2009, and achieved his Master of Exercise Science (Strength and Conditioning) from Edith Cowan University in 2010.
Prior to coming to Notre Dame, Howley worked at the Easter Ranges Football Club (Australian Football) as a Strength and Condition Coach from 2007-2009, and then was a High Performance manager from 2009-2011. Howley started at Notre Dame as an intern within the Strength and Conditioning department in 2011, and previously volunteered as a strength and conditioning assistant at the Hawthorn Football Club (AFL).
Hailing originally from Melbourne, Australia, Howley currently resides in South Bend, Ind.
