    Mandy Merritt first started at Notre Dame in January of 2008 as an Associate Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist.

    Merritt graduated from the University of Delaware in May 2001, and started physical therapy school also at UD in May 2002. She graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in December 2005. Merritt went on to work at Towson University as the Men's Lacrosse head athletic trainer before returning to work at the University of Delaware in a dual position with the UD Physical Therapy clinic and the University's athletic department. Within the Physical Therapy clinic, she was a clinical instructor and researcher in TKA and coper vs. non coper ACL; within the athletic department Merritt worked with women's basketball, men's soccer, and women's lacrosse.

    Merritt currently is a volunteer head athletic trainer for the U-19 USA Men's Lacrosse team, which is set to go to Worlds in Finland in July of 2012.

    In her free time, Merritt is an avid soccer player, participating in intramural & co-ed recreational leagues as well as women's and competitive leagues. She was a four-year academic scholar athlete, playing Division 1 Soccer on a full scholarship at the University of Delaware. Merritt was named to 1st team all-conference two years, was an Academic All-American nominee, and top 10 in goals scored, assists, and points in her career as a Blue Hen.

    Merritt hails from Wellandport, Ontario, Canada, and currently resides in South Bend. She is married to Nathan Johnson, and the couple has two golden retrievers, Steve and Toby.
