Gary Paczesny joined the Notre Dame Sports Properties staff in March of 2007 as the assistant director for digital media, and now currently is serving and an associate producer for Fighting Irish Digital Media. In his role, he over sees all live events for FIDM, along with helping to overseeing UND.com, the official web site of Notre Dame athletics, while shooting and editing video for the department of athletics. Streaming over 110 live athletic contests each year on UND.com, Fighting Irish Digital Media continues to grow as the digital media outlet of the department of athletics.
Prior to working at the University of Notre Dame; Paczesny spent a year as a media relations assistant at the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and Insight Bowls, loacted in Scottsdale, Ariz. As a member of the Fiesta Bowl family, Paczesny assisted the media relations department in facilitating and promoting over 40 events throughout the Valley of the Sun. He helped coordinate the day-to-day operations of the media relations office, while serving as press box coordinator for the 2006 Insight Bowl, and assistant press box coordinator for the 2007 Fiesta Bowl and BCS National Championship games.
In the spring of 2011, Paczesny graduated from Western Kentucky University with a master's of science degree in recreation and athletic administration.
Paczesny received his bachelor's degree in physical education (majoring in sports management with a concentration in communications) from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Ind. While an undergraduate at Valparaiso, he also served as a student manager for the Crusader women's basketball team. He got his start in media relations as a student assistant in the media relations offices at both Valparaiso University and the University of Notre Dame.
Paczesny has assisted in game day operations at some of the national most prestigious sporting events including the 2010 BCS National Championship and the 2008-10, 2012 Rose Bowl Games. He is a member of the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).
Paczesny was born Sept. 2, 1983, in South Bend, Ind., where he currently resides.
