Prior to coming to Notre Dame, Speybroeck worked in the printing and graphics industry for nine years, and returned to athletics as the head coach at South Bend St. Joseph High School in 1991-92. She led the team to a sectional title that season.
Speybroeck began her tenure at Notre Dame as an assistant softball coach during the program's formative years from 1992-97. She then moved to the administrative side of the department as an Assistant Equipment Manager from 1997-2003 before being elevated to her current role. In 2011 she was awarded with an honorary Notre Dame Monogram for her services and dedication to her work at Notre Dame.
A four-year softball letter winner at Indiana University from 1978-82, Speybroeck was also a member of the IU junior varsity women's basketball team in 1978 and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation- Leadership and Programming from Indiana.
A native of Scranton, Pa., Speybroeck and her husband Joe (also an honorary ND Monogram recipient as one of the pioneers of Notre Dame Softball) make their home in South Bend.
