Alex West is a new addition to the Fighting Irish Digital Media department, and works as a production intern. His role in the FIDM department involves live streaming of all Notre Dame sports online.
Born and raised in Mishawaka, Ind., West was a member of the Notre Dame band, playing the trombone during his undergraduate years at the University. He participated in both the marching band and varsity bands for hockey and basketball games. West became a double major in his junior year, after falling in love with the Film, Television and Theatre classes he took that year while in pursuit of his history degree.
West was first interested in digital media after participating in a student-run broadcasting team which broadcasted live on the internet during Mishawaka High School football and basketball games.
West still resides in Mishawaka, and in his free time enjoys watching sports and expanding upon his film knowledge.
