Webb Yes!
Duke junior Vanessa Webb reacts to the clinching point of her 6-3, 6-4 victory over Stanford senior Anie Bleszynski in Friday's NCAA singles championship match. The #4-seeded Webb won all six of her matches in straight sets, while owning a commanding 72-27 overall edge in games (the most games she allowed in a set was four and the most in a match was seven--both Friday).
Amy Jensen
California sophomore Amy Jensen (left) and junior Amanda Augustus became the first unseeded team ever to win the NCAA women's doubles title in the tournament's 17-year history, beating #1 seed and the two-time defending NCAA champions Dawn Buth and Stephanie Nickitas of Florida (7-5, 6-3).
Anie Bleszynski
Stanford senior Anie Bleszynski failed in her bid to become the first unseeded singles champion in the history of the NCAA women's tournament. Bleszynski had dropped just one set in her previous five matches before Friday's loss to Duke's Vanessa Webb. She finishes her career with a 107-42 career singles record, including 36-8 in 1998.
Andy Brandi
Florida coach Andy Brandi (left) and Cal's Jan Brogan plot early strategy during a changeover in Friday's NCAA doubles final. Cal jumped out to a 4-1 lead but Florida came back and was serving for the set before losing 7-5. The Bears then took the second set, 6-3.

Vanessa Webb
The shoes of Duke's Vanessa Webb show their wear as she readies for her final match of the season, an NCAA singles victory. The Duke players painted their shoes as a sign of team unity prior to last week's team competition and Webb stuck with the lucky shoes throughout the singles and doubles play.
Frank Brennan
Stanford head coach Frank Brennan talks with senior Anie Bleszynski during a changeover in Friday's singles championship. Stanford lost 5-4 to Duke in the team competition while the doubles team of Bleszynski and classmate Julie Scott advanced to the quarterfinals. Scott lost in the singles semifinals to Duke's Vanessa Webb, who went on to beat Bleszynski for the title.
California coaches and players
California coaches and players celebreate their doubles title (from left): associate coach Kathy Toon, junior Amanda Augustus, head coach Jan Brogan and sophomore Amy Jensen. Augustus and Jensen's 7-5, 6-3 win over Florida's #1-seeded team gives Cal its first tennis title in singles or doubles.
Vanessa Webb
Duke's Vanessa Webb can't help but smile as she talks with coach Jamie Ashworth following her NCAA singles title. Webb is the first player from an Atlantic Coast Conference school ever to win the NCAA singles title (the previous 16 champions came from SEC or Pac-10 schools).
Vanessa Webb
Duke's Vanessa Webb paid a fitting tribute to the tournament staff and fans, her coaches and teammates after capturing the NCAA singles title. The #4-seeded Webb finishes the season with a 44-9 season record and is now 119-22 in her career.
Amy Jensen
Cal's Amy Jensen (receiving serve) and Amanda Augustus (forecourt) were the fifth unseeded team ever to advance to the NCAA final in the tournament's 17-year history. They finished their season with a 28-7 mark, with their five-match run to the title including two three-set matches and five sets won by one or two games.

(From left) Duke assistant coach Shaun Beckish--who won an NCAA singles title while playing at Florida--Vanessa Webb and head coach Jamie Ashworth celebrate Webb's NCAA singles title. Webb became the eighth women's player ever to win the NCAA title without dropping a set in her six matches.
Vanessa Webb
Vanessa Webb reflects on her nine days of competition at Notre Dame's Courtney Tennis Center, which saw her play 10 singles matches and five doubles matches over the course of the team and individual competition. Webb went 8-2 in those singles matches and 4-1 in the doubles action, while losing only one set in her 12 wins.
