Stanford senior and #9-16 seed Julie Scott rallied to beat #1 seed Mirela Vladelescu of Alabama-Birmingham (4-6, 6-2, 7-5) in Wednesday's quarterfinals. Scott--who is 42-8 in singles action this season and 148-20 in her career--next will face Duke's Vanessa Webb, a player she defeated in the 1997 NCAA quarterfinals (Scott lost to Florida's M.C. White in the '97 semi's).

Stanford seniors Anie Bleszynski (left) and Julie Scott both advanced to the NCAA singles semifinals but lost in the day's final match, a three-set doubles win by William & Mary's Lauren Nikolaus and Michelle O (7-6, 1-6, 6-3). Bleszynski beat #3 seed Amanda Augustus of Cal (6-1, 6-0) while Scott knocked out the #1 seed, UAB's Mirela Vladelescu (4-6, 6-2, 7-5).

University of San Diego sophomore Zuzana Lesenarova continued her unseeded run through the NCAAs, beating #9-16 seed Kristina Kraszewski of Washington 6-2, 7-6 (8-6). Lesenarova faces another unseeded player, Stanford's Anie Bleszynski, in Thursday's semi-finals.
