Stanford senior Anie Bleszynski is one win away from becoming the first unseeded player to win the NCAA women's singles title, after a 6-3, 6-0 win Thursday over another unseeded player, San Diego's Zuzana Lesenarova. Bleszynski has won all seven of her singles matches over the past eight days at Notre Dame's Courtnry Tennis Center, including a 3-0 mark in the team competition (she is Stanford's #4 singles player).

Duke junior Vanessa Webb advanced to the singles finals with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Stanford's Julie Scott before losing with teammate Karen Goldstein in the doubles competition to Cal's Amanda Augustus and Amy Jensen (2-6, 6-0, 6-3). The #4-seeed Webb is 43-9 in singles action this season.

Webb has played seven matches in the last three days (four singles, three doubles), including six straight-set wins and Thursday's three-set doubles loss to Cal. She has needed to play only 125 games during that three-day, seven-match stretch, winning 82 games while losing 43.
