Notre Dame Social Media

Fans of Notre Dame athletics now have even more ways to keep up with the Fighting Irish with the development of social media.

IRISH ALERT TEXT MESSAGING
Since 2006, the University of Notre Dame athletic department, in cooperation with Notre Dame Sports Properties and Centennial Wireless, has provided fans the opportunity to receive free* text alerts updating them on Irish athletics on their wireless communication devices. All 26 Notre Dame varsity sports are covered by Irish ALERT, so fans can choose which team(s) they want to follow via text message. To sign up for Irish ALERT, click here.
* - Check with your wireless provider for any additional fees that may be charged due to receiving text messages.

FACEBOOK
Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them. Millions of people use Facebook everyday to keep up with friends, upload an unlimited number of photos, share links and videos, and learn more about the people they meet. The official Notre Dame athletics web site, www.UND.com, in conjunction with the Notre Dame Sports Information Office, has created its own Facebook page where Fighting Irish fans can stay connected with all 26 varsity athletics programs on campus. For news, photos and videos of Irish athletics, check out the official www.UND.com Facebook page.

The BIG EAST Conference also has launched an official Facebook page, where fans can get an inside look at what is happening around the league and in the league office from BIG EAST staff members dealing with each of the league's 24 sponsored sports. For breaking news, including preseason polls, players of the week and all-conference team announcements, check out the official BIG EAST Facebook page.

TWITTER
Twitter is a free social media service that allows its users to send and read updates - also known as "tweets." Tweets can be received on a user's cell phone via text or on the web. Notre Dame's official athletics web site, www.UND.com, in conjunction with the Notre Dame Sports Information Office, has created its own Twitter page to give fans the opportunity to receive up-to-the-second breaking news and daily updates on pertinent topics in the world of Notre Dame athletics. It is free to join Twitter and Notre Dame fans can easily sign up at www.twitter.com/signup or by going directly to the Fighting Irish UND.com Twitter page at twitter.com/UND_com.

Plus, several Irish teams have set up their own Twitter pages. To stay up-to-date on the following sports, visit these Twitter pages:

The BIG EAST Conference also has launched five different Twitter accounts, where fans can gain access to official BIG EAST "tweets" about a particular sport or championship:
