Clever epeeist who claimed All-America honors in 1999 (8th) and 2001 (7th) while also competing in the 2000 NCAAs (18th) … runner-up at 1999 Midwest Regional and champion in 2001 … missed the 2002 NCAAs after placing sixth at the ‘02 Midwest Regional … finished his career ranked ninth at Notre Dame in career wins among all weapons (156-55/.739), fourth among epeeists … won 2001 Midwest Fencing Conference title (‘99 runner-up) … only three-time recipient of Notre Dame’s Steve Donlon men’s epee leadership award (‘99, ‘00, ‘02) … rallied to All-America honors at 2001 NCAAs (Wisconsin-Parkside), with noteworthy wins over teammate Jan Viviani, Princeton’s Soren Thompson (the ‘01 and ‘02 NCAA champion), Penn State’s Adam Wiercioch, Stanford’s Eric Tribbett and Air Force’s Seth Kelsey … trained at Indiana Fencing Academy … five-time Dean’s List student, graduating with a degree in the Program of Liberal Studies.
