AS A SOPHOMORE: Followed impressive freshman campaign with an even more noteworthy sophomore effort, highlighted by capturing the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Sabre title … named the Co-ACC Men’s Sabreur of the Year … went 6-2 during ACC team competition to help the Irish claim their second straight conference title … named a Third Team All-American for the second year in a row, finish in 12th place at the NCAA Championships … placed fourth at the NCAA Midwest Regional … went 55-12 during regular-season dual competition … opened the season with a 10-4 record at the Penn Elite Invitational … went 8-0 on the first day of the DeCicco Duals … turned in an 18-4 record at the Northwestern Duals … wrapped the regular-season with a 13-2 mark at the Duke Duals … earned a monogram.
AS A FRESHMAN: Finished runner-up in ACC Men's Sabre competition, won the ACC Men's Team title and finished 12th at NCAA Championship, good for honorable mention All-American honors ... began the year with 9-4 mark at Ohio State Elite Cup, followed by a 9-6 showing in the St. John's Invitational and a 6-3 mark in NYU Invite ... etched 12-6 mark at Northwestern Duals, followed by 1-0 mark in DeCicco Duals and 8-1 record at ACC Championship ... at Ohio State, won all three bouts against Pennsylvania foes, out-dueling Steven Yang (5-3), Sean Turner (5-2) and Isaac Buchwald (5-3) ... lost to North Carolina's Mason Erb (5-2) but rebounded to beat Tar Heel foes Evan Philpot and Christopher Ruenz 5-3 ... went 2-1 against Princeton foes, narrowly out-touching Michael Wiest 5-4 ... lost 5-2 to Andrew Mackiewicz of Penn State, but won by a score of 5-2 over all three Ohio State foes ... at St. John's, again beat all three Ohio State combatants, besting Fares Arfa 5-4, Frederick Koch 5-2 and Rhys Douglas 5-2 ... against Penn State, beat Kaito Streets 5-3 ... bested Harvard's Duncan O'Brien and Eric Zhao 5-4, losing to Eli Dershwitz by the same score ... went 2-1 against host St. John's, beating Andre Varmado Jr. 5-3 and losing to Roman Sydorenko 5-3 ... finished the day 1-2 versus Columbia ... in NYU Invite, won two bouts against Yale and went 1-2 against Columbia ...won against Sydorenko (5-4) and Varmado Jr. (5-0) and Ferenc Valkai of St. John's, 5-3 ... out-touched Stephen Teng of NYU 5-2 ... in Northwestern, lost to three Princeton foes but rebounded to beat Pennsylvania's Sean Turner (5-3) ad Isaac Buchwald (5-2) ... out-dueled Stanford's Logan Spear, 5-4 and David Wolfson, 5-3, losing to David Beam 5-2 ... bested Air Force's Emiliano Kaptain and Ryan Andriuex 5-3, lost to Ryan Redhead 5-1 ... went 3-0 against UC San Diego and Cal Tech opponents, beating James Gillcrist 5-2, Peter Meckling 5-4 and Drew Dickinson 5-2 of UCSD and Kai Chang 5-2, Colin Murphy 5-0 and Yu Han Nam 5-2 of Cal Tech ... won only bout he fought in the DeCicco Duals, 5-3 against Wayne State's Ziad Elsissy ... in ACC Championship, finished with 12-3 record in individual competition, losing to teammate Jonathan Fitzgerald in the title bout ... finished second at NCAA Midwest Regional sporting an 11-2 record ... at NCAA Championship, finished with 13-10 record ... named ACC Fencer of the Week on Jan. 28 and earned a monogram.
