2009 Notre Dame Duals, Day 1

Second-year sabreist and intelligent attacker, looking to keep developing overall skill while overcoming shoulder injury ... has spent past two summers as head of research team at St. Joseph's University (in Philadelphia), focusing on interaction of electro-magnetic fields on brain tissue ... compiled 21-20 regular-season record in 2007 record that included 8-11 at ND Duals, 3-3 at NYU Duals, 6-3 at Midwest Duals (at ND) and 4-3 at Northwestern Duals ... posted 5-1 win over Wayne State's Alicia Chmielewski at ND Duals while winning at NYU versus Yale's Farrah Klimovek (5-1) and two fencers from the home team (5-1 vs. Victoria Dominguez; 5-4 vs. Angie Dang) ... placed 19th at Midwest Fencing Conference Championships and 13th at NCAA Midwest Regional (both at ND) ... posted 3.49 GPA in 2007 spring term.

PREP & PERSONAL: Fencing team captain and MVP as a junior and senior while at Academy of Notre Dame de Namur ... also fenced at Csiszar Fencing Club, coached by Andrew Bullock ... won two first-place and a third-place award at the International Science Fair as a sophomore (her projects focused on interactions in autonomic nervous system) ... a merit scholar who also was head of the jazz band and an award winner in both Shakespeare and French competitions ... played five years of softball prior to high school ... born April 4, 1987, in Philadelphia ... daughter of Mario and Donna Marie Zoccoli ... full name is Christina Marie Mariolana Jeanvieve Zoccoli ... enrolled in College of Science (double major in biology/philosophy).
