Qualified for three consecutive Olympic Games (2004, 2008, 2012) ... selected to lead the 529-member United States Olympic Team as the American flag bearer in the 2012 Olympics in London ... competed in individual draw at '04 Athens Games, while participating in both individual and team events at '08 Beijing Games ... set to compete in individual draw at '12 London Games ... first Notre Dame fencing Olympian to claim gold medal, winning at the '04 Athens Olympics ... with the gold-medal victory, she also became the first U.S. fencer to win gold in 100 years and was the first gold medalist in that event, which made its debut at the '04 Games ... earned back-to-back gold after topping the field at the `08 Beijing Olympics, while also helping the team claim a bronze medal to become the first Irish fencer to earn two medals in the same Games ... also marked first time a U.S. team won a medal at a World Championships or Olympic Games ... has won a total of four FIE Senior World Cup and three Junior World Cup events ... became youngest fencer to win gold at a World Championships at age 15 in '00 ... only fencer to win four World Championship titles in one season ... won the NCAA Individual Championship with the Irish for women's sabre in '06, while helping the Notre Dame team capture the title in '05.
