AS A SOPHOMORE: Local product saw his first action in an Irish uniform during the fall, running three meets for the cross country team ... placed fifth on the team and eighth overall at the Valparaiso Invitational, running 26:29 over 8,000 meters ... improved that time dramatically the next weekend at the National Catholic Championship, finishing third on the team and 11th overall in 25:32 ... closed out his cross country season in the Gold Division race at the Notre Dame Invitational, where he covered 8,000 meters in 26:02 for 45th place ... tried his hand in a variety of distances throughout the indoor track season ... ran 4:26.5 for the mile at the Blue and Gold Invitational ... moved up to the 3,000 meters at the Notre Dame Invitational, covering the distance in 8:44.39 ... moved up yet again at the Meyo Invitational, running the 5,000 meters in 15:27.91 ... kicked off the outdoor season at the Notre Dame Opener, improving on his top 5,000-meter time with a 15:24.7 ... season-best effort in that event came at the Hillsdale Gina Relays, where he ran 15:14.66 to close out the year.
