AS A SENIOR: Competed in six meets during the cross country season ... named team captain ... started off the season with a fifth-place finish at the National Catholic Championship 5K (17:46.64) ... shaved 47.74 seconds off her NCC 5K time at the Notre Dame Invitational (both at Burke Golf Course), finishing 35th of 165 runners (16:58.9) ... finished 24th of 140 runners at the ACC Championships 6K (20:58.5) ... was 37th of 219 runners at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional 6K (20:59) ... competed at the NCAA Championships 6K, finishing 122nd of 253 (23:23.1) … earned a cross country monogram ... began the track season by placing sixth in the 3,000 meter run at the Notre Dame Invitational (9:49.38) ... placed 10th in the mile during the Razorback Invitational (4:56.19) ... finished 19th in the 3,000 meters at the Meyo Invitational (9:44.88) ... finished 10th in the mile at the Alex Wilson Invitational (4:50.43) ... ran a 17:02.97 in the 5,000 meters to earn 15th place at the ACC Indoor Championships … also placed 10th with the distance medley relay group (11:37.91) … placed 21st in the 5,000 meter run at the Stanford Invitational (17:37.85) ... finished in 15th place in the 1,500 meter run at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge (4:39.68) ... took 12th place in the 1,500 meter championship at the Gina Relays (4:33.26)... placed 36th in the 1,500 meter run at the Jesse Owens Track Classic (4:44.13) … earned a track monogram.
AS A JUNIOR: Competed in all seven meets during the cross country season ... finished second out of 33 runners in the Crusader Invitational 5K (18:09.7) ... finished third out of 91 runners in the National Catholic Championship 5K (17:34.4) ... placed 47th out of 198 runners in the Notre Dame Invitational 5K (17:56.0) ... placed 126th out of 288 runners in the Wisconsin Invitational 6K (21:16) ... took 52nd place out of 140 runners in the ACC Championship 6K (21:54.7) ... took 62nd place out of 227 runners in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional 6K (21:49) ... finished 231st out of 254 runners in the NCAA Championship 6K (23:17.9) ... earned a cross country monogram ... competed in five meets during the indoor track & field season ... placed sixth of 13 runners at the New Mexico Invitational 800m run (2:17.93) ... competed in two events at the Meyo Invitational: finished 45th of 60 runners in the 800m (2:17.33) while also placing 16th of 35 runners in the 1000m run (2:55.72) ... competed in just one meet during the outdoor track & field season ... placed 13th of 15 runners in the Border Battle 800m run (2:24.84).
AS A SOPHOMORE: Competed in 13 meets for the Irish during the indoor & outdoor track & field season... participated in the 800m, 1,000m, 1,500m and the mile ... placed third in the 1,000m (2:57.02) at the Blue & Gold Invitational ... finished third in the 1,500m (4:32.46) at the Victor Lopez Rice Bayou Classic ... finished second and ran a season best in the 800m (2:11.35) at the Polytan Invitational ... placed second in the 1,500m (4:33.50) at the GVSU Second to Last Chance Meet ... a member of the 4x400m team that placed fifth (4:03.61) at the Louisville Border Battle ... finished fifth in the 800m (2:16.71) at the Michigan State Spartan Invitational ... earned a track & field monogram ... ran in three meets during the cross country season ... opened campaign by winning the 5K JV race out of 104 runners at the National Catholic Championship (18:04.7) ... followed that performance up with a 12thplace finish out of 116 runners at the 5K Notre Dame Invitational (18:02) ... closed year by taking 22ndout of 107 runners in the 6K open race at the Wisconsin Invitational (21:38) ... earned a spot on the Dean's List for the spring 2013 semester ... named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
AS A FRESHMAN: Ran in three cross country meets during the fall season ... opened the year at the 5K Crusader Invitational by finishing sixth out of 81 runners (18:38.1) ... followed up with an 11th-place finish out of 105 runners in the 5K race at the National Catholic Championships (17:48) ... also ran in the 6K "B" race at the Wisconsin Invitational ... competed in 13 meets during the indoor/outdoor track & field season ... gathered in five first-place finishes and 10 top-five finishes ... helped the Fighting Irish score four points in the 1,000m run during the BIG EAST Indoor Championships finishing fifth (2:49.21) ... ran career best times in the mile (4:53.95) and the 1,000m (2:48.94) at the Meyo Invitational ... added a personal best in the 1,500m (4:26.67) at the Polytan Invitational finishing sixth in a field of 29 ... concluded, the season by running a season high in the 800m dash (2:09.02) during BIG EAST Outdoor Championship ... named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star ... earned a track & field monogram.
HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL: Emily Sproson Frydrych graduated from St. Mark's High School in the spring of 2011 ... lettered all four years in cross country and indoor & outdoor track & field ... won state championships on the track in the 800 and 1,600-meter runs and ran a leg of the 4x800m-meter relay as a senior ... holds school records in the 1,600 meters (4:53.47), 800 meters (2:14.41), 3,200 meters (10:53.6) and the 5K in cross country (18:27) ... earned numerous all-county and all-state citations throughout career ... named team captain as a senior in all three sports, and as a junior in out- door track & field ... selected as secretary for school's National Honors Society ... born to Dan and Wendy Frydrych in Newark, Del. ... has an older sister, Sarah, who ran cross country and track & field at St. Francis (Pa.) University ... enrolled in the College of Arts & Letters and is majoring in psychology with minors in education, schooling and society and poverty studies.
