The Irish Track & Field team hosted the Meyo Invitational this weekend in the Loftus Sports Center.
AS A FRESHMAN: Competed in nine indoor and outdoor meets during the track and field season ... reached a top-ten finish four times on the year ... gathered in a personal best in the outdoor pole vault with a 3.55m distance at the Notre Dame Invitational ... concluded the season with a personal best pole vault distance (3.60m) at the Hillsdale College "GINA" Relays ... named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL: Kayla Ann Polcari graduated from Ridgewood High School in the spring of 2011 ... lettered four times each in indoor and outdoor track and field and gymnastics ... specializes in the pole vault ... holds the school and county records in both indoor and outdoor track and field ... claimed the Dartmouth Relay title in both 2010 and 2011 ... earned the silver medal at the Penn Relays in 2011 and the bronze in 2010 ... set personal record of 12-5.5 in the 2011 Penn Relays ... won bronze medal at the Arcadia Invitational in 2011 ... claimed the Eastern State title in indoor track and field in 2010 ... earned all-conference, all-county and all-state honors throughout career ... ranked in the top 20 in the country as a senior in both indoor and outdoor track and field ... won the conference championship three times in outdoor and twice in indoor ... also claimed the sectional and state titles in outdoor as a senior ... team captain as a senior in track and field and as a junior and senior in gymnastics ... member of the National Honor Society ... received high honors in the classroom all four years ... served as a peer counselor in Freshman F.O.C.U.S and was active in the Our Lady of Mt.
