AS A SOPHOMORE: Started to emerge as one of the top hurdlers in the Midwest during the 2003 season ... stepped up to defend his BIG EAST Championship at the outdoor meet, winning his second-consecutive 110-meter hurdle crown in 13.95 ... saved his best race for last, blistering to 13.84 in the 110-meter hurdles to finish seventh in the NCAA Mideast Regional and just missed qualifying for the NCAA Championship ... one of the best all-around athletes on the team ... added the 60 meters during the indoor season and 200 meters during the outdoor season to contribute for the team at the BIG EAST Championships ... began the 2003 indoor season with eight consecutive victories in the 60-meter hurdles ... placed first at the Central Michigan Opener, against Western Michigan and Ball State, against Michigan State, at the Meyo Invitational and at the Windsor Team Challenge ... also won his first two 60-meter races of the season against Western Michigan/Ball State and Michigan State ... placed first in his heat of the 60-meter hurdles at the BIG EAST indoor meet and ended up second in the finals (7.97) to earn all-BIG EAST honors for the second-straight season ... also qualified for the BIG EAST indoor meet in the 60 meters, ending up eighth in the finals (7.00) ... capped the indoor season with a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles at the Alex Wilson Invitational ... concentrated almost exclusively on the 110-meter hurdles during the 2003 outdoor season ... began the slate with a third-place finish at the Baldy Castillo, then followed up with a victory at the Tom Botts Invitational (14.31) ... also ran the 200 meters at the Baldy Castillo (21.94), qualifying for the BIG EAST outdoor meet ... took third in his section at the Mt. AS A FRESHMAN: Immediately stepped in as the top hurdler on the Irish squad ... took second place in his first collegiate event, the 60-meter hurdles (8.09), at the Purdue Open ... won his first collegiate home event, taking first in the 60-meter hurdles during the Tri-Meet against Western Michigan and Ball State ... repeated his 60-meter hurdle victory the next weekend against Michigan State ... finished fourth in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles at the Meyo Invitational (8.07) ... won his preliminary heat at the 2002 BIG EAST Indoor Championships (8.02), then earned all-BIG EAST honors with a third-place effort in the finals ... continued to improve his time in the 60-meter hurdles at the Alex Wilson Invitational, finishing fourth in the preliminaries (8.00) and third in the finals (7.95) ... kicked off the outdoor season at the Arizona State Invitational, taking fourth in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.50 and fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in 53.51 ... took second place in the 110-meter hurdles at the Purdue Invitational ... broke through for his first outdoor event victory at the Tom Botts Invitational, winning the 110-meter hurdles in 14.44 ... competed at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational, posting times of 14.49 in the 110-meter hurdles and 55.05 in the 400-meter hurdles ... also competed in both hurdle competitions at the Drake Relays ... stepped up to claim the BIG EAST Championship in the 110-meter hurdles with a blistering 14.14 in the preliminaries and a 14.31 effort in the finals ... also took seventh in the 400-meter hurdles (53.49) at the BIG EAST outdoor meet.
