2012 Cross Country Season:Had promising cross country season cut short due to an injury suffered at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional that forced him to drop out of 10K race ... didn't run with team at the 10K NCAA Championship race ... named all-BIG EAST after finishing third out of 114 runners at the 8K BIG EAST Championship race (24:39) in helping the Irish to a third place showing out of 14 teams ... competed in three regular season meets ... opened year by winning the five mile National Catholic Championship (276 runners) in 24:16.0 ... named BIG EAST Runner of the Week after winning the home meet ... took sixth out of 163 runners in the five mile blue race at the Notre Dame Invitational (23:46) ... closed out regular season with a 14th place showing out of 316 runners at the 8K Wisconsin Invitational (23:40) ... earned BIG EAST Runner of the Week honors for second time this season after performance in Wisconsin.
AS A JUNIOR: Continued stellar career as a junior, earning all-conference and all-region accolades while competing in five meets during the cross country season ... earned all-BIG EAST honors after finishing 12th out of 123 runners at the 8K BIG EAST Championships (23:55.4) ... turned in solid performance at the Great Lakes Regional meet, finishing 17th out of 211 runners on the 10K course (30:41.3) ... finished first on the team at the NCAA National Championships, placing 105th out of 255 runners on the 10K course (30:49.7) ... opened year at the Notre Dame Invitational, crossing the finish line 73rd out of 205 runners in the 8K blue race (25:11) ... placed 76th out of 270 runners at the 8K Wisconsin Invitational (24:41.0) in the last tune-up before the conference meet ... won a cross country monogram ... competed in eleven indoor and outdoor meets on the year for the Irish ... was one of the Irish's top performers, racking up seven first-place finishes on the year ... won a national championship with the distance medley relay team (9:35.48) at the NCAA Indoor National Championships ... ran anchor leg (mile) in 4:00.67 ... ran with Johnathan Shawel, Chris Giesting and Randall Babb ... was school's first indoor relay title ... won two titles at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships in the 1,500m run (3:50.64) and in the 4x800m relay (7:25.97) ... competed in the 1,500m at the NCAA East Preliminary Round ... in a field of 48 participants Rae finished third in the 1,500m run (3:47.85) at the NCAA East Preliminary Round ... earned two all-BIG EAST scrolls at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships in the mile (4:05.48) with a first-place finish and a second-place showing with his 4x800m relay teammates (7:28.57) ... also teamed with Shawel, Babb and Giesting to win the DMR at the Alex Wilson Invitational and break the school mark (9:29.72) ... named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star ... earned a track and field monogram.
