ATLANTA - The Irish track and field teams competed Friday during the first day of events at the Georgia Tech Invitational.

Women's 1500 Meters: Marissa Treece finished 12th with an NCAA regional qualifying time of 4:27.70, while Lindsey Ferguson finished 21st in 4:31.56.

Women's Shot Put: Rudy Atang finished sixth with a mark of 13.85m (45-5 1/4).

Women's Javelin Throw: Elise Knutzen finished second with an NCAA regional qualifying mark of 45.33m (148-09).

Men's 100 Meters: Miklos Szebeny finished 18th with a time of 10.78.

Men's 1500 Meters: Daniel Clark set an NCAA regional qualifying time of 3:45.59 to finish sixth, while Ryan Gamboa was 24th in 3:54.88.

Men's 5000 Meters: Jake Walker finished sixth with a time of 14:48.04, followed by Paul Springer in 13th at 15:32.61.

Men's Pole Vault: Kevin Schipper and Matt Schipper both set NCAA regional qualifying marks of 5.05m (16-6 3/4) to finish first and second, respectively.

Men's Long Jump: Eric Quick finished seventh with a jump of 7.19m (23-07 1/4).

Men's Shot Put: Andrew Hills finished fifth with an NCAA regional qualifying mark of 17.05m (55-11 1/4/). John Belcher finished 12th with a toss of 15.55m (51-00 1/4).

 

 

Men's Hammer Throw: Greg Davis finished seventh with an NCAA regional qualifying mark of 57.52m (188-08), followed by John Belcher in 10th at 53.32m (174-11) and Mitchell Gormley in 12th with a throw of 50.05m (164-02).

Competition continues Saturday at the Georgia Tech Invitational.
