Two Hit Qualifying Marks In Day One of NCAAs

DES MOINES, Iowa - Senior Adam Currie and junior Patrick Smyth each made the preliminary qualifying times in their respective events on Wednesday to advance to the final heats in the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Drake Stadium. Currie ran through the 800m in 1:49.82 while Smyth trekked the 5,000m with a time of 14:32.56. Sophomore Jaclyn Espinoza secured a top 25 finish in the discus throw prelims by covering 46.57m. Action resumes Thursday morning, the second day of the four-day event.
