NOTRE DAME, Ind. --- Senior Logan Renwick has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America Division I Cross Country/Track & Field first team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) today. Renwick becomes the seventh University of Notre Dame student-athlete to earn Capital One Academic All-America honors this academic year, and it is the second consecutive year as an honoree for the senior.

“It’s a huge honor to be selected and represent our program and the University in general,” Renwick says. “It’s truly a testament to the incredible academics of this great university and the support all Notre Dame student-athletes receive to help balance both athletics and academics. I take great pride in being both a student and an athlete, and it’s great to be recognized for my achievements both on and off the track.”

In May, Renwick graduated from the College of Engineering with a degree in mechanical engineering and finished with a 3.89 cumulative grade-point average. Last summer, Renwick was named to the Capital One Academic All-America Division I Track and Field/Cross Country second team. He was a 2013 outdoor honoree in the long jump after he placed third in the 2013 BIG EAST Outdoor Championship. This season, Renwick contributed 10 points to the men's third-place finish at their first-ever Outdoor ACC Championships with fourth place finishes in both the men's long jump and the men's triple jump. He competed in the NCAA East Preliminary Round in May.

Notre Dame has produced 238 honorees since Joe Heap’s football recognition in 1952 and sits second all-time behind the University of Nebraska. This is the 22nd time that a track & field athlete from Notre Dame has been honored. Other 2013-14 honorees include national champion soccer players Harrison Shipp and Patrick Hodan, women’s soccer standout Elizabeth Tucker, national champions fencer Gerek Meinhardt and swimmer Emma Reaney and women’s golf standout Ashley Armstrong.
