AS A SOPHOMORE: Competed in six meets during the cross country season ... placed first at the Crusader Invitational 4K (11:04.2) ... followed that performance with a second-place showing at the National Catholic Championship 5M (24:59.62) ... competed at the ACC Championships 8K and the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship 10K and finished 84th and 66th, respectively … earned a cross country monogram … competed in one meet during the indoor track season, finishing eighth in the mile at the Notre Dame Invitational (4:14.57) … competed in four meets during the outdoor slate … placed 11th in Section 7 of the 800 (1:56.49) at the Stanford Invitational … also placed second in Section 7 of the 1,500 meters at the same meet (3:51.57) … came in 32nd in the 1,500 at the Virginia Challenge … placed seventh in the 1,500 meters (3:50.35) and 14th in the 800 meters (1:52.70) at the Jesse Owens Track Classic … came in 13th in the preliminaries of the 1,500 at the ACC Outdoor Championships … earned a monogram.
AS A FRESHMAN:Competed in two meets during the cross country season ... took 10thout of 77 runners in the JV run at the National Catholic Championship 5M (27:08) ... placed 35thout of 100 runners in the Notre Dame Invitational 8K (26:57.3) ... compiled an excellent indoor track & field season while competing in seven meets ... was a key cog of the Irish's ACC champion indoor distance medley relay team.
HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL:Graduated from Toms River (N.J.) High School South in the spring of 2013 ... 12-time letter-winner in cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field ... an All-American in the distance medley relay at the high school national championships with a time of 10:16 ... had at the time of graduation the fifth-fastest mile in New Jersey state history with a time of 4:10.43 ... won the high school state championship during his junior year with a meet record time of 4:07.31 in the 1600m ... a member of the National Honor Society ... full name is Christopher Michael Marco ... born in Toms River, N.J. ... son of Thomas and Francesca Marco ... has one older brother, Thomas, and two older sisters, Amanda and Jessica ... sister Jessica runs cross country and track for Caldwell College ... enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business and majoring in Finance.
