Molly Seidel finishes fifth to help Notre Dame women's cross country team take third at signature home meet.
The annual event gets underway at 3:30 p.m. at the Notre Dame Golf Course.
The men placed 23rd while the women claimed 29th.
Five student-athletes were selected to the all-academic team.
This year's races are in Louisville, Ky., Saturday.

AS A JUNIOR: Competed in four meets during the cross country season ... placed 80th out of 288 runners in the Wisconsin Invitational 6K (20:57) ... placed 20th out of 140 runners in the ACC Championship 6K (21:08.7), earning All-ACC honors ... finished 41st out of 227 runners in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional 6K (21:24) ... earned a cross country monogram.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Competed in five meets for the Irish during first cross country season with team, culminating in NCAA Great Lakes all-region honors after finishing 22nd out of 217 runners on the 6K course (20:53) to help Notre Dame finish third out of 32 teams ... also ran for the Irish at the BIG EAST Championship, taking 20th out 126 runners on the 6K course (21:33) as Notre Dame finished fifth out of 15 teams ... opened year with a 10th place finish out of 266 runners at the National Catholic Championship 5K (17:47.2) ... finished 47th out of 145 runners in the 5K blue race at the Notre Dame Invitational (17:27) ... took second out of 107 runners in the 6K open race at the Wisconsin Invitational (21:11) ... named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team ... named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star ... earned a cross country monogram ... Did not compete during the track & field season.
AS A FRESHMAN (Johns Hopkins): Placed 20th for John Hopkins at the DIII NCAA Cross Country Championships, picking up All-America accolades ... competed in both the DIII NCAA Indoor & outdoor Championships finishing fifth during the indoor meet and fourth during the outdoor meet in the 5,000m run, earning All-America accolades ... won the most valuable freshman and freshman all-conference award for the Blue Jays.
HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL: Graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School (Red Bank, N.J.) in the spring of 2011 ... four-year letter-winner in cross country, indoor/outdoor track and swimming ... ran in the Meet of Champions in cross country (`08) and in indoor/outdoor track (2010-11) ... participated in the Nike Cross Country National (2010) and Nike Indoor National races (2011) ... ran personal bests in the 10,000m (36:33), 5000m (16:50) and in the mile (5:08) ... founder of the non-profit organization Tree Tops ... attended the same high school as Irish track runners Rob Devine and Kevin Byrne ... uncle, David, and aunt, Heidi, attended Notre Dame ... full name is Hannah Elizabeth Eckstein ... born in Silver Springs, Md., to Roland and Eileen Eckstein ... has two brothers and one sister ... enrolled in the College of Arts & Letters and is majoring in international economics with a minor in international development studies.
