Women Place Second, Men Third At 57th Annual Notre Dame Invitational

The runner-up finish for the women was the best since 2003.


Irish To Host 33rd Annual National Catholic Championships

Notre Dame looks to defend their championship titles.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Competed in three meets during the cross country season ... placed 15th out of 33 runners in the Crusader Invitational 5K (19:46.8) ... finished 15th out of 106 runners in the JV National Catholic Championship 5K (19:50) ... finished 56th out of 110 runners in the JV Notre Dame Invitational 5K (19:58.2) ... competed in six meets during the indoor track and field season ... kicked the season off by finishing fourth of 10 runners in the Blue and Gold Invitational 800m run (2:19.50) ... participated in the renowned Indiana Relays, recording a ninth place finish in section two of the 800m run (2:20.10) ... had double duty at the Meyo Invitational, placing 27th of 35 runners in the 1000m run (2:58.26) and 37th of 48 runners in the one mile run (5:08.02) ... finished the indoor season with an 18th place finish of 18 runners at the Alex Wilson Invitational 800m run (2:19.99) ... competed in two meets during the outdoor track & field season ... recorded a personal outdoor season-best time while placing eighth of nine runners in the Border Battle 1500m run (4:47.71) ... ended the outdoor season with an fifth place finish in the Hillsdale College Relays preliminary 1500m run (4:49.62).

AS A FRESHMAN: Competed in one meet for the Irish during the cross country season ... finished 10thout of 24 runners in the JV 5K race at the Notre Dame Invitational (20:02) ... ran in 10 meets during the indoor & outdoor seasons ... achieved a fifth place finish at the Hillsdale College GINA Relays in the 1,500m run ... competed in the 800m and 4x400m relay at the Louisville Border Battle ... ran in the 800m at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships ... helped the 4x800m relay team achieve a third place finish at the Indiana University Relays ... took fourth in the 800m run at the Blue & Gold Invitational ... named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.

HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL: Graduated from Smithtown High School East (Nesconset, N.Y.) in the spring of 2012 ... a three-sport participant and letter winner in soccer (two), indoor track (three) and outdoor track (four) ... placed second at the county meet in the 1,500m, earning all-county honors ... finished third in the county at the state qualifier meet in the 800m run ... set a personal record in the 800m (2:15.51) and the 1,500m run (4:40.26) senior year ... broke the school record in 4x400m (4:01.10) and qualified for state with a first-place finish at the county meet (2009) ... a member of the Dix Hill Stars and HBC Kosmos Fire club teams ... named team captain of the Stars ... active in the National Honor Society, the National English Honor Society, the National Math Honor Society, the National Spanish Honor Society and DECA ... was awarded as a U.S. History Award recipient and the National Conference of Teachers of English Achievement in Writing Competition school representative ... full name is Kelsey Lynn Amarosa ... born to Robert and Debra Amarosa in Minneola, N.
