    AS A JUNIOR: All-American who co-captained the Notre Dame cross country squad that attained a No. 5 national ranking in the final Mondo poll ... formed an effective 1-2 punch with sophomore Kurt Benninger that paced the team in nearly every meet ... kicked off the cross country season as an individual champion at the National Catholic Invitational, running 24:58 over 8,000 meters ... followed up that performance two weeks later by running 23:58 on the same course at the Notre Dame Invitational, an effort that earned him 13th place ... led the team to victory at the BIG EAST Championships, finishing sixth overall (23:53) in front of three teammates to earn all-BIG EAST honors ... helped Notre Dame advance to the NCAA Championships by taking ninth in the Great Lakes Regional, running 30:25 over 10,000 meters ... competed in the NCAA Championships for the third time, and his first with the Irish team ... ran 31:56 over 10,000 meters in sloppy conditions, good for 43rd place (and his first All-America citation) as the team finished 11th at the national meet ... began the indoor track season with a fourth-place 3,000-meter finish at the Notre Dame Invitational ... competed in the Meyo Invitational the following weekend and ran a career best of 14:12.67 in the 5,000 meters, finishing fourth ... made a huge contribution to Notre Dame's indoor BIG EAST title with two all-BIG EAST performances, running 14:27.25 for third in the 5,000 meters and a season-best 8:17.04 for second in the 3,000 meters ... concluded the indoor campaign with a 14th-place effort in the 5,000 meters at the competitive Alex Wilson Invitational ... had a sensational debut in the outdoor season with a career best in the 10,000 meters at the Stanford Invitational ... ran 29:03.43 which was good for 21st place in a very deep field ... ran the 5,000 meters at the Mount SAC relays, taking 20th in 14:15.06 ... scored points in two events at the outdoor BIG EAST Championships, finishing fifth in both the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters ... concluded the year with a 12th-place finish in the 5,000 meters (14:20.68) at the NCAA Mideast Regional.

    AS A SOPHOMORE: Continued his role as one of the top cross country harriers on the Irish roster ... switched back and forth with senior Todd Mobley as the top two runners on the team ... began the 2003 cross country season with a third-place finish at the Notre Dame Invitational, helping the Irish claim the team title ... followed up with a team-best 15th-place effort at the Pre-National meet ... finished first on the team for the second year in a row and earned all-BIG EAST honors for the second time by finishing sixth at the league cross country championship ... ended up second on the team and 15th overall at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional ... was invited to the NCAA Championship as an individual entry, finishing 89th overall ... did not compete during the 2004 track and field season.

    AS A FRESHMAN: Highly-touted rookie lived up to his billing during the 2002 cross country season and 2003 track and field slate ... ended up as an BIG EAST champion and qualified for the 2003 IAAF World Cross Country Championship in Lausanne, Switzerland ... posted an outstanding first BIG EAST Championship at the 2003 indoor meet, winning his first individual title in the 5,000 meters (14:26.78) and earning all-BIG EAST honors with a third-place finish in the 3,000 meters (8:16.83) ... began his first cross country season in 2002 with a second-place finish behind teammate Todd Mobley in the adidas Invitational ... followed the same pattern at the National Catholic, finishing behind Mobley again to take second and help the Irish win the team title ... ran well at the highly-competitive Notre Dame Invitational, finishing sixth ... top finisher for the team at the Pre-National meet, taking 22nd place ... stepped up due to an injury to Mobley at the BIG EAST Championship to finish first on the team in 10th place ... that finish provided the first all-BIG EAST honor of his career ... Notre Dame finished fourth as a team at the BIG EAST cross country meet ... posted another top-15 finish at the Great Lakes Regional, ending up 14th in 30:57.1 to post the top finish on the team yet again ... flirted with All-America honors at the NCAA Championship, eventually ending up 63rd in the field as Notre Dame's top finisher ... began the 2003 indoor track and field season with a victory in the 3,000 meters against Western Michigan and Ball State ... ran the difficult double of the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters at the BIG EAST outdoor meet, finishing fifth in the 5,000 meters and earning second all-BIG EAST honors of the season in the 10,000 meters (30:31.13) ... also competed at the Mount SAC Relays in the 10,000 meters, running a season-best 29:45.93 ... stepped out of track and field competition in February of 2003 to competed at the USA Cross Country Championships in Houston, Texas ... finished fifth at the USA Championship to qualify for the IAAF World Championship, run in Switzerland ... made the trip to Lausanne, Switzerland, to run with the U.S Junior National Team ... finished second on the team at the World Championship and 34th overall, helping the United States finish eighth as a team.

    HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL: A four-year letter winner in both cross country and track and field and Novi (Mich.)
