Cross Country


Will serve as a cross country and track co-captain in the 1999-2000.

AS A JUNIOR: Came into her own as the team?s number-two cross country runner in 1998 ... ran in six cross country meets, recording a fourth at the Wolf & Kettle Invitational and a sixth at the National Catholic Invitational ... 22nd at the Notre Dame Invitational in 17:37 ... turned in a pair of 27th places at both the BIG EAST and district championships ... Knute-Rockne Scholar Athlete for selection cross country from the Notre Dame Club of St. Joesph Valley ... ran the mile and the 3,000 during the indoor season ... recorded first-place finishes in both events against Indiana ... her time of 10:13.79 in the 3,000 against Indiana was her season best and the third fastest on the team ... ran team?s second and third fastest times in the mile ... two-time all-BIG EAST honoree with a third place in the mile (4:52.52) and as a member of the 4X800-meter relay ... competed in the 1,500 and 3,000 during the outdoor season ... placed third in the 1,500 at the Spring Opener in 4:40.64 ... ran a career-best 9:59.32 at the Stanford Invitational.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Competed in six cross country meets in ?97 ... took two second places at the National Catholic meet (junior varsity) and Notre Dame Invitational (open division) ... turned in Notre Dame?s best team time at the Central Collegiate Championships with 18:31 performance (14th place) ... also ran in the BIG EAST and District IV championships ... posted two thirds and two sevenths at three indoor track meets ... ran a 5:07.57 mile at the Meyo Invitational ... best finish in the outdoor season was a second place at Michigan State in the 800 meters.

AS A FRESHMAN: Ran in four cross country races in 1996 ... posted runner-up finish at Valparaiso Invitational ... finished second in mile against Indiana ... sixth in 800 meters at Meyo Invitational in 2:22.93 ... won 1,500 meters at Boilermaker Open in 4:40.05 ... placed fifth at Purdue Open in 800 meters in 2:17.97.

HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: Four-time monogram winner in cross country and track at St. Joseph and Trinity High Schools ... placed eighth in the state in 1996 in the 800 meters ... four-time track team MVP ... three-time city champion in the 1,600 meters ... youngest of 10 children, all of whom attended Notre Dame ... five sisters also participated in cross country and track ... father Charles teaches law at Notre Dame ... a Dean's List student at Notre Dame ... born March 18, 1978, in Garden City, N.Y. ... double majoring in English and music in the College of Arts and Letters.
