The 24th-ranked Notre Dame Women's Cross Country team takes 10th place in the 2009 Notre Dame Invitational


Cross Country - National Catholic Championship

The Notre Dame Cross Country Team competes against other Catholic colleges on September 19 at the Warren Golf Course.

AS A SENIOR: Finished in the top 10 and recorded her best time of the season in the mile at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships in 5:01.39 ... competed in the Gina Relays, running the 5,000m in a season best time of 17:48.66 ... finished fourth overall in the 5,000 at the Purdue Dave Rankin Invitational ... ran the 3,000 and finished in the top 10 at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational ... finished fifth overall at the Indiana University Relays in the 3,000.

AS A JUNIOR:Raced in six cross country competitions on the season while also competing in a full slate of middle distance races with the track team ... placed third in the National Catholic Cross Country Invitational, stopping the clock at 17:56.6 ... placed 59th at the Notre Dame Invitational with a 17:38 ... at the Pre-National Meet, finished 65th in 21:45.5 ... stopped the clock at 22:53 at the BIG EAST Championship, good for 47th ... crossed 30th at the Great Lakes Regional in 21:57.99 ... closed out the season in 21:42.6 at the NCAA Championship ... opened the track season at the Blue and Gold Invitational, grabbing the victory in the 3,000 in 9:56.52 ... finished second in the 1,600 at the Notre Dame Indoor Opener, crossing the line at 4:58.04 ... stopped the clock in a 4:50.69 in the 1,600 at the Notre Dame Invitational to secure the victory ... finished third at the Indiana Relays in the 3,000 after finishing in 9:44.47 ... competed in both the 1,600 and distance medley relay at the Meyo Invitational ... finished third in the 1,600 with a 4:47.99, her fastest time of the season and helped her team cross third in the relay in 11:24.87 ... finished sixth in preliminary races of the 1,600 at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships after clocking a 4:54.50, going on to finish third in 4:53.91 ... also finished fifth with the 4x800 relay team (8:51.73) and fourth with the distance medley relay team (11:39.42) ... posted a 5:00.56 in the 1,600 at the Alex Wilson Invitational, good for 21st ... later helped her distance medley relay team finish sixth in 11:20.34 ... finished 39th in the 800 at the Stanford Invitational (2:13.45) and crossed in seventh in the 1,500 (4:31.46) ... competed for the first time of the year in the steeplechase at the Border Battle, finishing seventh in a 11:08.55 ... crossed 12th during the 800 at the Dave Rankin Invitational in 2:21.12 before earning a victory in the 1,500 in 4:36.23 ... returned to the steeplechase at the Gina Relays, locking up fifth-place with a mark of 10:52.53 ... concluded season with a 25th-place showing in the 1,500 at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships (4:41.71).

AS A SOPHOMORE: Won the Valparaiso Invitational to start the season (17:42) ... came in second to teammate Lindsey Ferguson at the National Catholic Championship, posting a 17:53 ... finished 38th at the Notre Dame Invitational in 17:19 ... recorded a 21:13 at the Pre-NCAA meet, good for 40th ... finished 20th at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championship (21:16) ... posted a 21:40 time at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, placing 14th and helping the Irish advance to their first NCAA Championship appearance since 2005 ... finished 122nd at the NCAA Championship (21:38) ... had the top indoor times for the Irish in the 1,600, 3,000 and 5,000 ... won the 1,600 at the Notre Dame Indoor Opener in 5:02.96 ... finished fourth in the 1,600 at the Notre Dame Invitational in 4:58.73 ... placed 12th in the 3,000 at the Meyo Invitational ... finished sixth in the 1,600 at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships in 4:51.93 ... second in the 3,000 at the Alex Wilson Invitational (10:06.16) ... scored a victory in the 1,500, running it in 4:31.50 at the Dave Rankin Invitational, while also finishing fifth in the 800 ... finished ninth in the 1,500 at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships ... placed 13th in the 1,500 at the NCAA Regionals (4:34.62).

AS A FRESHMAN: Competed in four cross country meets for the Irish ... won the National Catholic Championship in 17:24, her first collegiate race ... followed that with a 17th-place finish at the Notre Dame Invitational, covering the course in 17:24 ... finished 40th in 21:06 at the Pre-National Meet ... closed out the season with a 26th-place finish at the BIG EAST Championship, clocking in at 21:35 ... opened the indoor track season at the Notre Dame Indoor Opener, running the 1,600 in 5:01.96 to finish second ... ran the 3,000 in 9:57.44 to finish fifth at the Notre Dame Invitational ... took the top spot in the 1,600 at the Indiana Relays, registering a 5:04.00 ... finished 18th at the Meyo Invitational, running the 3,000 in 9:56.66 ... ran the 3,000 in 9:33.95 to finish sixth at the BIG EAST Championships ... closed out the indoor season with a seventh-place finish in the 5,000 in 16:59.61 at the Alex Wilson Invitational ... opened her outdoor campaign with an eighth-place performance at the Hillsdale Relays, running 1,500 in 4:38.88 ... finished sixth at the BIG EAST Championships in 17:17.45 in the 5,000 ... closed out the season with a 10th-place finish at the Georgia Tech Invitational, running the 5,000 in 17:13.48.

HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL: Ten-time letterwinner in cross country, track and field and basketball at Glen Lake High School (Mich.) ... twice won national track titles during her senior season, winning both the National Scholastic Indoor (NSIC) and Nike Outdoor Nationals (NON) 5,000 Championship ... added a second-place showing in the two 1,600 at NSIC and a fourth-place 1,600 effort at NON ... all four national meet performances set all-time Michigan state records ... her 5,000 race at NON also set a meet record ... garnered five All-American honors during her senior track campaign, including recognition for her third-place showing in the junior women's 5,000 at the USATF Outdoor Championships ... an 11-time state champion and a holder of seven state records on the Michigan D4 level ... qualified for the 2006 Foot Locker National Cross Country meet out of the Midwest Region ... personal bests include: 2:13 over 800, 4:50.12 in the 1,600 (4:49 in the 1,600), 10:22 in the two 1,600 and 16:36 in the 5,000 ... tabbed an Academic All-American ... named 2007 Michigan Student Athlete of the Year ... class president, salutatorian and National Honor Society member at Glen Lake ... born April 7, 1989, in Traverse City, Mich. ... daughter of Tina and Nate Treece ... youngest of two children ... graduated from the College of Arts and Letters as a design major. Also earned a marketing degree in the Mendoza College of Business.
