NOTRE DAME, ind. - The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has named Notre Dame to its list of 2008 Division I Women's Cross Country All-Academic Teams.

The Irish women's squad carried a 3.241 team grade-point average during the fall semester.

Notre Dame had a successful cross country season, after finishing fourth at the Great Lakes Regional meet and making their first appearance at the NCAA Championships since 2005. The Irish finished 29th at the 2008 NCAAs.

Washington was named the USTFCCCA Division I Women's Cross Country Scholar Team of the Year. In all, 162 women's squads were named All-Academic Teams.

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet and have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative grade point average.
