    The Irish take on Western Michigan on Wednesday afternoon.

    AT NOTRE DAME: Two-year monogram winner ... pitched exclusively out of Irish bullpen as a freshman and sophomore but made first career start as a junior ... has opportunity to work way into starting rotation but will definitely serve as a middle-to-late innings reliever ... extremely athletic for size ... an all-state defensive end in football and got numerous scholarship offers in basketball as well ... adopted a change to delivery during the fall of 2012 and pitches more from a 3/4 arm slot ... did not enter college with an over-powering fastball, but has added velocity with major work in the strength and conditioning area ... has topped out in the mid-90's ... been up-and-down in consistency, but can be a draftable guy with a good senior campaign ... carried a 3.252 cumulative GPA into the 2014 spring semester.
