    AT NOTRE DAME: Two-year monogram winner ... proven winner with strong leadership skills and work ethic ... saw action as a freshman at both third base and shortstop before starting 11 games as the designated hitter and two at third as a sophomore ... played in shadow of former Irish third baseman Eric Jagielo, but will compete for open third base spot entering season ... displays a lot of the tools necessary to be solid player ... has shown ability to hit for power, but needs to use the field more ... needs to work on defensive consistency ... spent considerable time between freshman and sophomore year working with the catchers to develop position versatility.

    SOPHOMORE SEASON (2013): Played in 33 games with 13 starts (11 at DH and two at 3B) ... team went 7-4 when he started at DH and 7-6 overall ... hit .222 with 14 hits, 13 RBI, three doubles, one triple, three homers, three hit by pitch, two sacrifice bunts and nine runs scored ... finished with a .444 slugging percentage and .258 on-base percentage ... had a pair of multi-hit games including three at UC Santa Barbara on March 12 (3-for-4, R) ... had three multi-RBI games including a four-RBI contest at Louisville (Mar. 30) after launching a grand slam ... other two homers came against Ohio State (Feb. 16) and USF May 5 (two-run HR) ... went 2-for-4 with a double, triple and one run scored as the DH at Central Michigan (Apr. 30) ... in first 12 appearances of season batted .321 with nine hits, seven RBI, two doubles, two homers and four runs scored ... hit .097 in BIG EAST play with three hits, eight RBI, two homers, two hit by pitch, two sac bunts and three runs scored ... finished year 1-for-1 with the bases loaded, 3-for-3 as a leadoff hitter and 9-for-33 with runners in scoring position (.273).
