Weather Forces Cancellation of Irish Baseball Classic
SAN ANTONIO, Texas- The rain never subsided and the end result was the cancellation of the Irish Baseball Classic at Wolff Stadium in San Antionio, Texas. Brigham Young and Southern Illnois managed to play a rain shortened 5 inning game, with BYU taking advantage of 4 Saluki errors to post a 7-1 victory.
No champion wwas declared due to the rainouts. The Irish will seek to make up three games they had rained out at a later date. ND will open Big East play next week, when they travel to Providence and Connecticut.
