The University of Notre Dame baseball team welcomes 19 newcomers to the diamond this season. The class was ranked as one of the top in the entire county -- fourth by Baseball America and sixth by Collegiate Baseball. In the coming weeks, UND.com will feature each Irish newcomer leading up to the team's Feb. 22 opener against Liberty. The 15th Notre Dame player in the spotlight is first baseman Ty Adams.

What is your favorite major league ballpark?
It's a tie between Fenway Park and Wrigley Field.
What would be the title of your autobiography?
"Trust the Plan".
What is your favorite/most memorable sports moment?
It has to be hitting a two run home run against our biggest rivals as a
senior in high school in the bottom half of the last inning to send us into
extra innings. We eventually won the game. It was a fun win.
Are you a fan of the American League's designated hitter or do you prefer the National League style?
I'm definitely a fan of the designated hitter.
Should college baseball switch to wooden bats?
Yes, all levels of baseball should be played with wood.
Who is the best hitter and pitcher in major league baseball?
Alex Rodriguez and Johan Santana.

Do you have any pre-game rituals or superstitions?
Why did you choose Notre Dame?
Not really. I just do whatever has been working recently. For instance, if I
go 3 for 4 in a couple games, I'm going to try and repeat everything I did
before those last few games.
Notre Dame was always a school I liked. But I think what really sealed the
deal for me was all the tradition and school spirit as well as the opportunity
to play big time division I baseball.
