NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The No. 11 University of Notre Dame baseball team is set to make its third appearance in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship, opening play at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday against No. 7 Miami. The Irish and the Hurricanes, which are joined in their pool by No. 2 Clemson, will compete at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in the pool’s first game.

Irish veteran Scott Tully is scheduled to take the mound against Miami as he seeks to avenge his only loss of the season, which came against the Hurricanes in the ACC opener on March 9.

Notre Dame must win its games against both No. 7 Miami and No. 2 Clemson (on Wednesday) to advance to the semifinals.

ACC Tournament History

Notre Dame clinched a spot in the ACC tournament for the third time in the last four seasons (2015, 2017-18). The Irish will play for the 10th conference tournament championship in program history, first ACC tournament title and first conference title of any kind since 2006.

In 2015, Notre Dame split games against NC State and Virginia, advancing to the semifinals and ultimately falling to Miami, 6-5, to end its conference tournament run. That season marks the only time in ACC history the Irish advanced to the semifinals.
