    1997-98 Notre Dame Biography Updates

    The leading scorer and rebounder for the Irish this season, averaging 22.8 points per game and 7.8 rebounds...has led Notre Dame in scoring in 12 of 13 games...scored 32 points in win over Rutgers on Sunday for his fifth-career game of 30 poitns or more...also recorded a season-high seven assists...through games of Jan. 12, is the 12th-leading scorer in the country...through games at Jan. 12, is the leading scorer in the BIG EAST for overall games and second in conference games at 24.2 points per game...in overall games, is seventh in field goal percentage (.500), 10th in free throw percentage (.737), eighth in rebounds (7.8) and third in defensive rebounds (5.62)...in conference games is third in field goal percentage (.526), third in rebounding (9.2) and first in defensive rebounding (7.00)...the Irish co-captain has made a Notre Dame school-record 97 consecutive starts...stands fifth on the all-time Notre Dame scoring list with 1,755 points...has scored 20-plus points in seven of the last 10 games...fouled out against Connecticut on Jan. 3 to mark the first time in 51 games that he had fouled out of a contest...recorded a season-high 32 points in win over Sam Houston State (Nov. 28)...posted his first double-double of the season when he scored 28 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in Notre Dame's win at Pittsburgh (Dec. 6) and then scored 19 points and 15 rebounds vs. Pittsburgh (Jan. 6).. now has 14 career double-doubles...in the first Pitt contest, he and teammate Phil Hickey combined to score 31 of Notre Dame's 35 second-half points...hit 11-of-16 free throws in the contest...has been in double figures in 32 straight games dating back to last season...has scored in double figures in 86 of his 97 career games and has scored 20 or more points in 32 career games.

    Registered a career-high 14 points vs. Dartmouth (Dec. 22)...also set his career high with five assists and tied his season high with eight rebounds against the Big Green...scored a then season-high 12 points vs. Florida International (Dec. 20)...missed first start in 33 games against Northeastern (November 25) because of shin splints...the senior co-captain had started 32 straight games prior to that contest...played just five minutes against the Huskies...was back in the starting lineup three nights later versus Sam Houston State (Nov. 28)...averaging 6.8 points per game and 5.5 rebounds...grabbed eight rebounds in consecutive contests versus Pittsburgh and Drexel...has led or tied for the lead for the Irish in rebounding in four games this season, including six vs. Rutgers on Sunday.

    Scored a career-high 20 points vs. St. John's (Dec. 30)..was five of nine from the field, including a four of eight effort from three-point range...has been in the starting lineup for all 13 games...had 11 points and a career-high five assists in win over Rutgers on Sunday...posted double figure scoring in all but six games and is averaging 10.1 points per game and 3.2 rebounds...tied a then career-high with 17-point effort at Indiana (Dec. 3)...hit three-of-four three-pointers against Drexel and finished with 14 points (Dec. 14) and grabbed a career-high six rebounds vs. Drexel...also had 14 points in the season opener against The Citadel.
