Irish Post Solid 73-58 Win Over Syracuse
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Pat Garrity scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish knocked off the Syracuse Orangemen, 73-58, in Big East men's basketball action.
Visiting Notre Dame (8-7, 2-5 Big East) held Syracuse (10-7, 1-5 Big East) to 33 percent shooting in the first half, as the Irish raced to a 10-point halftime lead.
Gary Bell was 7-of-9 from the field, coming off the bench to score 14 points in 20 minutes of play.
Orangemen center Otis Hill led his team with 14, but no other Syracuse player reached double figures for the game.
Garrity was also responsible for nine assists, while Admore White had six steals for the Irish.
Notre Dame returns to action next Wednesday at home vs. Seton Hall.
