Garrity Again Leads Way As Irish Down Huskies
NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Pat Garrity scored 25 points and grabbed 15
rebounds to lead Notre Dame to a 71-65 overtime victory over Connecticut in a
Big East game.
Connecticut (12-9, 5-7) shot just 24 percent (19-of-80)
from the field. But the Huskies were 11-of-24 from three-point
range and a woeful 8-of-56 (14 percent) from inside the
three-point arc.
Notre Dame improved to 11-9 overall and 5-7 in
the conference.
Ricky Moore led Connecticut with 22 points.
Connecticut forwards Kevin Freeman and Richard Hamilton combined
to hit 5-of-28 shots from the field. Huskies guard Dion Carson
was 1-of-10 from the field.
The Irish return to the hardwood Tuesday when they host West Virginia
in another Big East matchup.
