Notre Dame Cruises to Third Straight Win
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Pat Garrity had game-highs of 27
points and 13 rebounds to lead Notre Dame to a 90-76 win over
West Virginia tonight before a crowd of 9,007 at the Joyce Center.
The victory was the third straight win for the Irish, who improved
to 12-9 overall and 6-7 in the Big East. West Virginia fell to
14-7, 8-6.
Admore White added 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists
for the Irish. The senior guard was 4-for-4 from three-point
range as Notre Dame shot 50 percent (8-for-16) from behind the
three-point stripe.
Pete Miller and Derek Manner both added 11 points, while Antoni
Wyche chipped in with 10.
Seldon Jefferson paced West Virginia with 22 points. Adrian
Pledger and Jarrod West both added 14 points apiece, while Jones
finished with 10.
Notre Dame shot 57 percent from the floor in the game and held a
42-30 lead at halftime. The Irish outrebounded West Virginia, 43-35.
