HONORS AND AWARDS

  • 2017 ACC Academic Honor Roll

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2017-18)

  • Grabbed nine rebounds in just 11 minutes of action against Pittsburgh in Notre Dame’s first game of the ACC tournament.
  • Connected on all six 3FGA at North Carolina, matching the school record for made 3FG without a miss - set by Matt Carroll on 11/24/2001 against UT-Chatanooga at the Hawaii-Pacific Thanksgiving Classic.
  • Those six 3FGM led to a career-high 18 points in the loss at UNC - and he matched his career-high for minutes played with 32.
  • Back to form against Boston College, scoring 16 points with five rebounds and two assists.
  • Tried to fight through a sprained ankle suffered in practice on Feb. 1 at NC State and started the game, but was limited to just eight minutes.
  • Was on pace for a third consecutive career-best game at No. 4/5 Duke before fouling out for the first time in his career. Ending the game with a career-high four 3FGs and 14 points.
  • Returned to the starting lineup vs. Virginia Tech and responded with a second-consecutive career-best game, posting 15 points with 11 rebounds (first career double-double) in 32 minutes.
  • Scored 13 points off the bench, connected on three 3FGs with seven rebounds at No. 20/18 Clemson.
  • Had collected five or more rebounds in five of Notre Dame’s last six games, including four in a row.
  • Played a career-high 27 minutes off the bench against Louisville.
  • Made first career start vs. No. 20/18 North Carolina, scoring five points with five rebounds.
  • Earned a career-high 25 minutes at Georgia Tech and responded with his first double-figure scoring game of his career, posting 11 points with eight rebounds.
  • Stretch four big man who will play a key role on Notre Dame’s front line in the coming seasons.
  • Logged key minutes vs. Indiana in the Crossroads Classic, hitting two three-point field goals and pulling down two rebounds. 
  • Matched his minutes-played career high vs. Ball State with 19 and grabbed a career-best seven rebounds against the Cardinals.
  • Best game of the young season came in the Maui Invitational against LSU, scoring nine points with six rebounds and was 2-for-2 from three-point range.
  • Scored a career-high nine points with five rebounds in the victory over Chicago State.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2016-17)


  • Made the most of his seven minutes of action against Loyola Maryland with seven points, four rebounds and his first career three-point field goal.
  • Grabbed a career-best five rebounds off the bench in the victory over Seattle.
  • Made his Notre Dame debut in the season-opening win over Bryant, playing four minutes and grabbing two rebounds.

HIGH SCHOOL


  • Led Lake Brantley High School to a 22-4 record as a senior, averaging 24 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks per game.
  • Named Orlando Sentinel Player of the Year, Florida 8A Player of the Year and first-team all-Florida.
  • Named the MVP of the Toyota Classic in Lexington, Kentucky, posting 24 points and 26 rebounds in the championship game.
  • Finished as Lake Brantley’s all-time leading rebounder and scorer while averaging 19 wins per season throughout his high school career.
  • Member of the Nike Team Florida AAU team.
  • Earned Lake Brantley’s Gary Hayes Memorial Award for a student-athlete who shows leadership.

  • Born in Baltimore, Maryland
  • Son of Kevin and Margaret Mooney, along with older brother Brendan and older sister Caitlin.
  • Brother, Brendan, played basketball at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, following in the footsteps of father, Kevin, who played golf at Spring Hill College.
  • Enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business.
