    Post-Game Notes

    • Today was the 29th meeting all-time between Notre Dame and Rutgers. The Irish lead the series 17-12. Notre Dame has won seven straight home contests versus Rutgers.

    • Notre Dame's 19-4 start this season matches the best 23-game record for the Irish under head coach Mike Brey. The Irish also opened the 2002-03 campaign 19-4.

    • Notre Dame's 8-3 BIG EAST record is its best 11-game start to league play since going 8-3 in 2007-08. The best 11-game BIG EAST start ever for the Irish was 9-2 in 2000-01.

    • Notre Dame has won its last five BIG EAST games. It's Notre Dame's first five-game regular-season BIG EAST win streak since capturing the final four regular-season games last season and winning this year's league opener. It's the first five-game conference win streak within the same season since the 2007-08 campaign.

    • The Irish had four players reach double-figures in points (Hansbrough - 25, Martin - 14, Scott - 12, Abromaitis - 10) for the second straight game. That marked the ninth time this season Notre Dame has had at least four players score in double-digits in the same contest.

Ben Hansbrough (25 points) has scored 20-plus points a team-best nine times this season, including in three of the past four contests. He has reached double-figures a team-high 21 times this season (out of 23 games).

Ben Hansbrough has led the Irish in scoring a team-best 13 times this season. He has led the team in scoring in the past six games and in eight of the past nine contests.

    • Senior forward Carleton Scott (12 points) scored in double-figures for the 13th time this season (out of 19 games played). He has reached double-digits in three of five games since returning from a hamstring injury.

Carleton Scott notched his team-high fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds. He also blocked three shots.

    • Notre Dame is 17-2 this season when Carleton Scott has played. He missed four games earlier in the season with a hamstring injury.

    • Senior guard Scott Martin (14 points) registered a double-digit point total for the fifth straight game and for the 14th time overall this season. Martin has scored in double-figures in 11 of the past 12 games.

Tim Abromaitis (10 points) netted double-digits for the 19th time this season.

Carleton Scott's three-pointer just over two minutes into the contest extended Notre Dame's streak to 397 straight games with a made three-pointer. The Fighting Irish have made at least one three pointer during every game of the Mike Brey era.

    • The Fighting Irish were 27-34 from the free throw line, while Rutgers was 8-12. The Irish are 17-0 this season when making more free throws than their opponent. This was the 11th time this season that Notre Dame has made more than 20 free throws.

Carleton Scott went 2-for-2 from the free throw line this afternoon. He is 13-for-13 from the charity stripe in BIG EAST play this season.

    • For the second straight game, Notre Dame committed only nine turnovers. The Irish have had fewer than 10 turnovers in a game eight times this season (four times in BIG EAST play).
