NOTRE DAME, Ind. --- Freshman forward Troy Murphy scored 21 points and added nine rebounds as the Note Dame basketball team opened its exhibition season on Monday night with a 97-87 win over the One World All-Stars, a touring team of foreign players.
A total of five Irish players score in double figures in the win as freshman forward David Graves had 16 points and six rebounds, senior center Phil Hickey had 13 points and three rebounds, sophomore guard Martin Inglelsby scored 12 points with four assists and senior forward Dennis Carroll came off the bench to score 10 points and add five boards.
Notre Dame shot 49.2 percent from the floor, including a 18-36 performance in the second half. The Irish connected on nine of 22 threee-point field goal attempts and were 22 of 36 from the line. Notre Dame led 47-39 at the half.
Five players scored in double figures for the One World All-Stars as Eddie Rivera had a game-high 25 poitns and Antonis Fotsis had 15 points.
Notre Dame returns to action on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. EST when it plays Team Fokus in its final exhibition game of the season.
