NOTRE DAME - HAMPTON SERIES HISTORY

Notre Dame and Hampton will be meeting for the first time on Tuesday evening. The Pirates earned an automatic bid to the National Invitation Tournament by virtue of their regular season title in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Hampton advanced to the MEAC tournament championship game, but suffered a 71-63 setback to North Carolina Central.

Hampton won 12 of its final 14 games of the season, including a 10-game win streak from Feb. 5 through the MEAC semifinal game to claim control of the MEAC regular-season crown. Sophomore guard Jermaine Marrow paces the Pirate offense, scoring 19. 1 ppg. Hampton has earned three MEAC titles (2011, 2015, 2016) and made three trips to the NCAA tournament (2011, 2015, 2016) and earned an NCAA tourney win over Manhattan in 2015.

Notre Dame is 5-0 all-time against MEAC teams, most recently a 107-53 victory over North Carolina A&T on December 4, 2016.
